Scan A Lot LLC is doing a fundraiser with the Mario Lemieux Foundation

An initiative of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, Austin’s Playrooms provide a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere for kids while their families focus on health and healing in the face of difficult medical challenges. Millions of families have found comfort in Austin’s Playroom, Military Playrooms, and the Lemieux Sibling Center.

The vision for Austin’s Playrooms was born as the result of Nathalie and Mario Lemieux’s experience when their premature son, Austin, spent 71 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. While the Lemieuxs were focused on Austin, it became clear that there was nothing within the hospital to occupy and engage their other children. Today, Austin is grown and healthy, but his namesake playrooms continue to give kids a home away from home during a stressful time.
